Nest Co-opers and Professional Fellows Take Part in Panel Discussion at Parsons School of Design

Nest Professional Fellows are a little bit like super heroes, working impressive full-time jobs by day, volunteering to help artisans by night. On April 14th, four Nest Professional Fellows, two of whom are also Co-opers, gathered at Parsons School of Design for a panel discussion led by Rebecca van Bergen of Nest, with some inspiring welcoming remarks from Burak Cakmak, Dean of Fashion at Parsons and one of the newest additions to the Nest Advisory Board.

Nest Professional Fellows Sapna Shah (Eddie Borgo), Shannon Broyles (SB Factory), Tina Robinson (Oscar de la Renta) and Amanda Lee (Phillip Lim) spoke with students about their first-hand experiences providing training, guidance, consultation and mentorship to artisans around the world – some of them sharing stories from on the ground in Swaziland, Colorado, and West Java, while others speaking to opportunities to make impact from home, via Nest’s new Remote Learning Center for Nest Guildartisans.

The ensuing dialogue was a motivating snapshot of where the industry is headed as guided by this rising class of young professionals and students who are rethinking sustainability, supply chains, and social impact. If you are a Co-oper interested in exploring Fellowship opportunities with Nest, please visit our Nest Professional Fellowship page to learn more!
