Amy Christiansen Si-Ahmed is a social entrepreneur and the pioneering Founder and CEO of Sana Jardin, the world’s first socially conscious fragrance House. Fusing luxury perfume with a new, groundbreaking model of Beyond Sustainability™. Sana Jardin’s unprecedented business method produces economic empowerment tools and social enterprises for the Moroccan women who harvest the raw floral materials for perfume. Sana Jardin is proud to contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
From 2011 to 2014 Amy served as a governing Trustee for the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women. She worked closely with Cherie Blair to empower women economically by supporting female entrepreneurs in developing countries through enterprise development programs, mentoring and mobile technology. From 2009-2011 she was volunteer Development Advisor for President Clinton’s Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI).
In 2007 Amy assisted in the creation of the Arab Forum for Social Innovation (AFSI) through the Institute for Philanthropy in London. AFSI increased the impact of charitable giving for philanthropists of Arab descent through donor education and network building. Before that, she spent three years living in the Kingdom of Bahrain where she advised a number of Bahrain-based non-profit organisations on development and fundraising strategies. From 2001 until 2003, Amy was the Associate Manager of Major Gifts at the New York City-based Robin Hood Foundation, a pioneer in venture philanthropy that was named by Fortune magazine as one of the most innovative and influential philanthropic organisations of our time.
Amy has spent her professional career working for social justice and helping those in need to work towards gender and economic equality and cultural tolerance. Prior to Amy’s work in development, she spent five years in a direct practice setting in the field of Social Work. Amy provided outpatient psychotherapy to low-income children and families in Chicago, Illinois at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital and Constance Morris Domestic Violence Shelter. Amy holds a Master of Social Work (summa cum laude) from Loyola University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Social Work.
